Advocacy Agencies

American Society on Aging - Professional membership association in the field of aging.

California Advocacy for Nursing Home Reform - Dedicated to improving the choices, care and quality of life for California's long term care consumers.

Case Management Society of America - aims to improve patient well-being and health care outcomes by supporting the professional development of care managers from a variety of disciplines, practice settings, skill levels and professional capacities.

Compassion & Choices - a nonprofit organization, improves care and expand choice at the end of life. We support, educate and advocate.

Family Caregiver Alliance - Caregiver support organization for caregivers of adults. This site is a valuable source of information for caregivers.

Kimochi - Non profit organization dedicated to the well being of seniors in the San Francisco Bay Area. Continuing the Japanese tradition of care and support for seniors.

National Private Duty Associationaim to enhance the strength and professionalism of private duty home care providers.

San Francisco Adult Protective Services - Provide protective services to elders and dependent adults who are unable to protect their own interests or care for themselves.

Senior Action Network - Citywide federation of senior organizations organizing to improve the lives of San Francisco's seniors and all of the city's residents.

Senior Legal hotline - Nonprofit agency providing free legal advice, assistance and education for seniors.


Art Therapy & Performance

Stagebridge - Nation's oldest senior theatre company. This organization uses theatre and storytelling to bridge the generation gap and to stimulate positive attitudes toward aging.


Disability Organizations & Services

California Telephone Access Program - distributes telecommunications equipment and services to individuals certified as having difficulty using the telephone.

DisabledCommunity.org - An extensive resource guide for people with disability.

Hearing Society for the Bay Area - Enable people who are hard of hearing, deaf, speech/language disorders to participate fully in their families.

Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired - Resources, support and training for people with vision loss.

National Association for Visually Handicapped - Works with people worldwide dealing with the difficulties of vision impairment.

Business Forum on Aging - Organization focusing on implications and opportunities of the 50 plus market and the middle-aging workforce.

For Retired Only - Offering a diverse spectrum of financial services for those preparing for all phases of retirement.

Heritage Financial North - Providing qualified veterans with financial benefits outside the traditional VA residential system.

Simple Reverse Mortgage Solutions, Inc – is a family owned mortgage company with over ten years of origination and operations experience in reverse mortgages and fifteen years in mortgage banking experience.


HIV/AIDS Services & Education

Positive Resource Center - assist people affected by or at risk for HIV/AIDS through culturally appropriate counseling, education, training and advocacy in making informed choices that maximize available benefits and employment opportunities.

San Francisco AIDS Foundation - provides leadership to prevent new HIV infections. Linking community experience with science, the Foundation develops ground-breaking prevention programs and bold policy initiatives to promote health and create sustainable progress against HIV.

Tenderloin Health - serve those living with and at the greatest risk of acquiring HIV/AIDS, who have difficulty obtaining services elsewhere, especially due to substance use, mental illness, sexual orientation, gender identity, race and ethnicity, and/or other social barriers.

Westside Community Services - Provides community-based prevention, mental health, substance abuse and social services to clients in the City of San Francisco.

Hospice by the Bay - Provides hospice and palliative care services for patients and their caregivers needing care and support during the final stages of life.

San Francisco Bay Area Network for End-of-Life Care - are a membership and networking group open to organizations, individuals, and students involved in end-of-life care in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Sutter VNA & Hospice - Sutter VNA & Hospice makes it possible for patients to receive quality health care in the comfort and familiar surroundings of home.

Zen Hospice - Runs several programs dedicated to the care of people approaching death and increasing our understanding of our own impermanence.
